Project Management of an Office Move

April - July 2023

I was contracted to project manage an office move for a law firm in Oxford. The firm had used this 4 story building with multiple offices for over 200 years - it had it’s own library of law books, board room, and even some historic rowing oars featured on a wall - all of which needed to be moved / sold / disposed of.

On my first day I remember one member of staff chuckling, and saying “You’ve got to make this happen!”

I built a plan and was the point of contact for the teams involved. I worked with

  • IT companies to organise the switch over and identify changes required

  • archiving companies to ensure safe and secure removal of files

  • removals firms

  • the staff who were impacted by the move

  • the management team

  • furniture suppliers

On time, the end goal was achieved - the office that the firm had had for 200 years was emptied, and the staff were moved to a much smaller office, equipped with everything they needed.

Setting up a New Business

I love saying “You have an idea, I’ll make it happen” - this is what I did for Lovell Fuels, a family business.

I was given a drawing of the logo they’d like, and I took it to a designer and got it made.

I used this logo on marketing materials, advertised the start up of the business, and promoted the story on a radio station.

I was given an idea of the business processes, and I took it to several software companies, selected the best-fit, and we set up the system from which to operate the business.

I built relationships with collaborative companies, so we could work together to build the business up.

Support with Email Campaigns

I provide support to a busy business woman who prefers to focus her time on her core business, rather than work on email campaigns. I arrange the content, import the contacts, and send the emails.

Support with Wix Website - Managing Booking Systems

I manage the booking system behind a Wix website, for a busy entrepreneur who offers coaching to clients with ADHD and autism.
